چکیده
The organization of actin microfilaments was studied by immunofluorescence isolated from sunflower hypocotyls and cultured in an agarose matrix. Remov wall completely disrupted the actin cytoskeleton, which became progressively into cortical microfilament arrays and actin cables during protoplast culture. protoplasts with Arg-Gly-Asp motif-containing peptides, to inhibit putative cell the agarose matrix, strongly affected this repair process: microfilament elongat formation were inhibited and the connectivity between the cortical netw perinuclear basket was reduced. Similar effects were observed with a short treatment wit to disrupt actin microfilaments. These results indicate that the actin net

I-6: Role of Actin Cytoskeleton during Mouse Sperm Acrosomal Exocytosis
Background: Mammalian sperm must undergo a process termed capacitation to become competent to fertilize an egg. Capacitation renders the sperm competent by priming the cells to undergo a rapid exocytotic event called acrosomal exocytosis that is stimulated by the zona pellucida (ZP) of the egg or progesterone. Over the years, several biochemical events have been associated with the capacitation...
متن کاملRab11 is required for maintenance of cell shape via βPS integrin mediated cell adhesion in Drosophila
In eukaryotes, vesicle trafficking is regulated by the small monomeric GTPases of the Rab protein family. Rab11, (a subfamily of the Ypt/Rab gene family) an evolutionarily conserved, ubiquitously expressed subfamily of small monomeric Rab GTPases, has been implicated in regulating vesicular trafficking through the recycling of endosomal compartment. In an earlier communication, we have shown th...
متن کاملSomatic Embryogenesis: An Alternative Method for in vitro Micropropagation
Plant tissue culture is an alternative method of commercial propagation and is being used widely for the commercial propagation of a large number of plant species, including many medicinal plants. Somatic embryogenesis is a process by which asexual or somatic cells are induced to form embryos in culture. Somatic embryogenesis is a multi-step regeneration process starting with formation of pro-e...
متن کاملEffect of Stress-Fiber Inclusion on the Local Stiffness of Cell Cytoskeleton Probed by AFM Indentation: Insights from a Discrete Network Model
In this paper, we analyze the effect of stress-fiber inclusion on the stiffness of an actin random network. To do this, use a discrete random network model to analyze the elastic response of this system in terms of apparent Young’s modulus. First, we showed that for a flat-ended cylindrical AFM indenter the total indentation force has a linear relation with the indentation depth and the indente...
متن کاملPhosphoinositides and Rho Proteins Conspire to Spatially Regulate Actin Polymerization in Motile Cells
Cells that move in response to an external signal are crucial for diverse physiological processes such as embryogenesis, neurogenesis, wound healing and immune surveillance. Motile cells are also implicated in disease processes such as rheumatoid arthritis and metastatic cancer. Polymerization of the protein actin, one of the three proteins in a cell’s cytoskeleton, generates the force required...
